Babe Paley. Definitely not someone of the #MeToo generation. Then again, who knows? These women hold a certain fascination for me as we live through the pile up of sex and power between the genders.

In a few short weeks, Arthur will be arriving for a student exchange and staying with us until the end of the year. I don’t think we quite know what we’ve got ourselves into.

Our family home is literally reduced to rubble. None of us have lived in it for a number of decades but the knowledge that the place is no longer standing saddens me deeply.

I think about you all the time. Some days it’s with laughter. Other days I’m a mess of mucus and tears.

I love a hike. The best part about living in Colorado are the glorious mountains to the west. Just don’t expect me to camp out on my own in them.

This year has been gut wrenching in many ways. Julia’s death tops off a sustained period of anguish that was unforeseen at the beginning of 2017.

It's the beauty hour and the topic du jour is the state of my head. The look and feel of my head to be precise. This is serious folks. Pay attention.  

I lust after the finer things in life but give me the choice of setting a table for a meal or lounging in front of the teev, I'll take the latter almost all the time. Where's the style, where's the je ne sais quoi?
